Life Story: Ronald Stashek, 69, Formerly Of East Millstone

Ronald Stashek, 69, passed away Dec. 7 at his home in Bloomsburg Pa.

Mr. Stashek was born in Somerville and lived in Manville and East Millstone prior to moving to Pennsylvania about 15 years ago.

He served our country faithfully in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was formerly employed by the Franklin Township Public Works Road Department in Somerset and later by the Belle Mead Government Supply Agency. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent many years piloting the 616 at the stock car races at Flemington and East Windsor speedways and will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to make us laugh

Mr. Stashek was pre-deceased by his parents, Steve Stashek Jr. and Carmella Campisi Stashek .

He is survived by his son, Stephen Stashek and his wife Alison and their son Cameron of Somerset; a sister, Janice Berger and her husband Jim, of Pa.; his former wife, Barbara Paris, along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A blessing will take place 10 a.m. Dec. 13 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset, and interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in East Millstone. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
