Life Story: Eddie Zyczkowski, 57; Postal Carrier

Eddie Zyczkowski passed away May 1 at St. Peter’s University Medical Center in New Brunswick.

He was 57 years old.

Eddie was born in Jersey City. He lived in New Brunswick prior to moving to Somerset in 1991. He served our country faithfully in the United States Army. He worked briefly as an HVAC Tech but was currently working as a Postal Carrier. He worked out of the Somerville Post Office but more recently the Hillsborough post office. He was a season ticket holder of the New Jersey Devils for 25 years. He was a New York football Giants fan and a New York Yankees fan.

Eddie was pre-deceased by his father Stanislaw Zyczkowski. He is survived by his mother, Julia Zyczkowski of New Brunswick and his siblings, Hedy Miranda of Australia, Halina Eichert and her husband Hank of Somerset, Barbara Zyczkowski of Somerset and John Zyczkowski also of Somerset. He is also survived by his nephews, Al Miranda of Fla., Paul Eichert and his wife Joanna of Highland Park, Matthew Eichert of Flemington, and great niece Jordan, and many friends.

Visiting will be held from 4-8 p.m. May 4 at Gleason funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St. A funeral ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. May 5 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Brunswick.
