LaHair Leads Patriots To 4-3 10-Inning Win

78lahairwebBridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (4-1, 42-33) defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers (2-2, 36-37) 4-3 in ten innings at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.

In the tenth inning, Mycal Jones singled, stole second, and after an intentional walk to Eric Farris, a double steal put runners on second and third. David Vidal was intentionally walked to load the bases when Bryan LaHair plated Jones with an RBI fielder’s choice.

“It all started with the guys getting on base in front of me,” said LaHair. “With a man on third with less than two outs, I’m just trying to hit the ball hard and put the ball in play.”

Somerset tied up the game in the bottom of the eighth inning on an RBI single by LaHair that made the score 3-3.

The Patriots took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning on RBI singles by Matt Fields and Brian Van Kirk.

The Barnstormers took the lead in the fifth inning on a three-run home run by K.C. Hobson (5). It was Hobson’s second straight night with a homer.

Jeremy McBryde (6-3) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched. Scott Gracey (2-6) took the loss, giving up a run in 0.2 innings of work.
