In Your Opinion: Prasad Abused His Power

By Bill Connell, Somerset.

Councilman Rajiv Prasad’s abuse of power has revealed the understanding gap between Council and the public.

Something was said about Donald Trump that can apply to the Tranquility group. They are not tethered to reality so they can say whatever they want. To tell the Township Council you don’t want something and pay no mind to their real power to stop it is illogical. There are systems in place to control Council and governance. Sometimes they limit the public whim too.

No matter what camp you are in, South Middlebush Road is a mess at rush hour.

If I were Tranquility , I would stop saying emotional, useless things like Council does not care and look at SMR as an Ecosystem. Educate yourself on what can and cannot be controlled. You could throw out the whole government but the new one will still be constrained by the same laws and protocol.

I know or have worked with all on Council and to say they don’t care is just not fair. They do question themselves, they do fret. That’s all you can ask for. They do have soul. Not the kind that helps you sing a song, the kind that keeps you up at night worrying.

I do not fault Mr. Prasad for pushing cricket fields. I fault Mr. Prasad for abusing power and taking the Hillary Clinton route when he was stone cold busted for it. Thank God his handlers had better judgment. Just think how history would be different if someone had said, “hey Attilla buddy, are you sure this is a good idea?” At this point it is a waste of time to ecall Mr. Prasad or ask him to resign.

At this point I am going to vote for Raleigh Steinhauer instead of Prasad. There is one more alternative though. If you must vote Democrat, you can write in William Galtieri for “At Large” as well. He is younger but has the wisdom of an older man and he has soul.
