In Your Opinion: Franklin Boy Scout Troop 113 Looking For New Recruits

By Michele Rojek.

Franklin Township Boy Scout Troop 113 is ready for some new recruits – and we were lucky to have five prospects come and join us on a fun filled day on Saturday February 27th in the Somerset Presbyterian Church parking lot where we held a skills building competition in lieu of the annual Klondike Derby and during the midst of a difficult time with Covid restrictions being adhered to.

Scoutmaster Jim Hayes said “Scout Spirit was in full effect on Saturday. Our patrols worked together and made a great impression on our five prospects – and the senior patrol had lots of fun judging the competition.”

There were four “stations” in the parking lot: fire starting, first aid, knots & lashings and cooking (lunch!) All the scouts of 113 had a chance to show off their skills and as a treat there was a hot chocolate station for everyone’s enjoyment.

Please get in touch with us if you have a child age 11 or older who is looking for adventure and life skills training while having fun along the way!
