Franklin’s College Students On The Move

  • The College of Saint Rose congratulates Alexandria Teryek of Somerset, New Jersey, who earned a Certificate of Advanced Study and a Certificate of Advanced Study as a member of the Saint Rose Class of 2017.   • Assumption College has announced that 535 students have been named to the College’s prestigious undergraduate Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester, including Colleen Kurtz, Class of 2020, from Somerset. To earn a spot on the Dean’s List, Assumption students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester. The Dean’s List is announced twice per academic year, once at the completion of the fall semester, and again at the completion of the spring semester.
  • Congratulations to David Gray, named to Spring 2017 Dean’s List at the University at Albany! The University at Albany congratulates more than 3,400 students who were named to the Spring 2017 Dean’s List. David Gray of Somerset, NJ  is included on the Dean’s List for this semester. Students named to the Dean’s List earned at least a 3.5 GPA.
  • During Commencement ceremonies on May 22, 2017, Lehigh University conferred 1,071 Bachelor’s degrees, 360 Master’s degrees and 49 Doctoral degrees. Of the nearly 1,500 graduates, degree recipients came from 41 states and 38 countries, majoring in 94 different disciplines, including to Danielle Williams of Franklin Park, with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics degree with a major in Finance, and Trevor Socarras of Somerset, with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics degree with a major in Finance.
  • Shelby A. Lubowicki of Somerset has been named to the Dean’s List at Clemson University for the spring 2017 semester. Lubowicki is majoring in Biological Sciences. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Brittany Georges and Navya Jagarlamudi, both of Somerset, have been named to the University of Delaware Dean’s List for the Spring 2017 semester.
  • The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that Marc Hani Fares of Somerset is one of more than 5,290 undergraduates who have qualified for the Spring 2017 Dean’s List. To be included on the Dean’s List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.
  • Molly Millar of Franklin Park graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio with a Master of Science: Speech Language Pathology.
  • Justin DiSarro was named to the Dean’s List and graduated from Stevenson University on May 18, 2017.
  • Seton Hall University is pleased to announce the following students who qualified for Spring 2017 Dean’s list and to congratulate them for their outstanding academic achievements. Qualifications for Dean’s list include enrolling as a full-time matriculated student with a minimum of 12 undergraduate credits, completing all courses with a GPA of 3.4 or above, and with no grades lower than “C”: Cierille Boco of Franklin Park, Jasmine Igwegbe of Somerset, Alexander Melillo of Somerset, Ian Murphy of Somerset, Sabri Patel of Somerset, Payal Patel of Somerset, Nicole Peterkin of Somerset, Tanika Roach of Somerset.
  • Taylor P Spinella of Somerset, N.J. (08873), has been awarded a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling Summa Cum Laude from Kutztown University.
  • Anjali Gandhi of Somerset graduated from the University of Connecticut.
  • The following local residents have been named to the spring 2017 Dean’s List at University of the Sciences. Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a “C” and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the spring of 2017: Khushbu Patel of Franklin Park, a doctor of physical therapy student; Namarta Kalia of Franklin Park, a doctor of pharmacy student; Parth Patel of Somerset, a pharmacology and toxicology student; Pooja Patel of Somerset, a doctor of ocupational therapy student; Shanaya Patel of Somerset, a doctor of ocupational therapy student; Tejumade Akande of Somerset, a doctor of pharmacy student, and Vibu Udayaraj of Somerset, a health science student.
  • Vitas Hrynkiewicz of Somerset was one of 34 Youngstown State University football players named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference Academic Honor Roll for the 2016-17 season. To qualify for the Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have recorded a minimum 3.0 grade-point average for a specified term (Fall 2016), must have been a member of the football team, and must have a minimum of 12 hours of enrollment during the fall.
