The Franklin High School Wind Ensemble participated in the Rutgers University Mid-Atlantic Band Festival Feb. 17 at the Nicholas Music Center on Douglas Campus.

Under the organization and direction of Professor Darryl Bott and Demetrios Papadopoulos, students spent the afternoon participating in clinics where they were able to listen to advanced music students perform as well as enjoy the expertise of Rutgers faculty.

The day culminated in a combined concert at the Mason Gross Performing Arts Center.

The Franklin High School Wind Ensemble first performed their pieces under the direction of Daniel Berz and Eric Diaz.  They were followed by several performances by the Rutgers Symphony Band and the final highlight of the evening was a joining of forces as both bands performed three pieces together. They were conducted by Diaz, Berz and William Berz of Rutgers, respectively.
