Four Hurt In Multi-Auto Crash On Route 27

Four people – including three New Brunswick High School students – were injured Jan. 8 after a multi-vehicle accident on Route 27.

Police said that at about 2:52 p.m. a 2006 Nissan Quest driven by a 17-year-old from New Brunswick was traveling south on Rt. 27 when the car rear-ended a 1999 Infiniti, driven by Chakyra Webb, 21, of New Brunswick, as it was stopped waiting to make a left turn.

The impact pushed the Infiniti over the highway’s yellow line where it collided with a school bus traveling northbound from New Brunswick High School.

The bus, driven by Luis Rivas, 37, of New Brunswick, then veered to the right and struck a 2008 Infiniti driven by Dave Francis, 37, also of New Brunswick.

There were 10 occupants on the bus, three of whom complained of pain and were transported to an area hospital, as was Webb, police said.

Two juvenile females in the Nissan were uninjured, as was Francis, police said.

The accident is under investigation by the Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
