Electrical Fire Badly Damages Clinton Street Home

A Clinton Street family was burned out of their home the night of Nov. 10 by what fire officials are calling an electrical fire.

Police received a 9-1-1 call reporting a fire shortly after 11 p.m., according to a press release on the fire.

Officers found the single-family home completely engulfed in flames, according to the release. The occupants – two women aged 77 and 54 years, and a 56-year-old man – were able to safely exit the home.

Firefighters from East Franklin, Community, Somerset Fire and Rescue, Elizabeth Avenue, Bound Brook and the City of New Brunswick were on the scene to battle the blaze, according to the release.

The fire is being investigated by firefighters from the Franklin Township Office of Fire Prevention and detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department, the release said.

The residents are staying with family members in the area, according to the release.
