Central Islip, NY – The Long Island Ducks (11-8) blanked the Somerset Patriots (15-5) 1-0 Wednesday evening at Bethpage Ballpark. Long Island starting pitcher Jack Snodgrass was electric as he struck out 12 batters, while walking just one in six innings of work.
“I can’t remember any mistakes he made,” remarked Somerset Patriots manager Brett Jodie of Snodgrass’s gem. “He was working the ball in and out. Using all quadrants of the plate. His changeup was effective. We knew from the beginning it was going to be one of those low scoring, tight games. Long Island was able to scrape across something and that was the difference.”
