‘Drive Electric Earth Day’ Features Benefits Of Electric Vehicles

The township Green Team and Environmental Commission are hosting a Drive Electric Earth Day from 5:30-8 p.m. April 23 in the township Community/Senior Center parking lot, off DeMott Lane.

Sponsored by Plug-In America, the event will feature more than a dozen models of electric vehicles, including the best selling Tesla Model 3, according to a press release about the event. Other manufacturers whose produces will be featured include Chevy, Nissan, Honda, Kia and Toyota.

Plug-In America is a national non-profit organization focused on promoting sustainable plugin electric transportation powered by clean and cheap, domestic electricity, according to the release.

Several of the township’s five new Chevy Bolts will also be on display, according to the release. The cars, which are being used by the township’s Construction Code office, can travel more than 230 miles on a full charge.

The event will also feature several electric vehicle charging equipment installers who will speak about residential installation of electric vehicle charging stations.

All visitors may enter a drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card, sponsored by Plugin America. To enter, you must be physically present and follow the instructions.
