A group of students from Central Jersey College Prep Charter School recently received a taste of college life, thanks to a visit to Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

The trip was arranged by a CJCP teacher, Ms. Jimenez, who brought 43 of the school’s 11th Grade students.

During the trip, the students first went to the Rutgers Student Activities Center on College Avenue, where they had the opportunity to communicate with college students and explore the facility in addition to its gift shop.

After lunch at the student center, the students attended a Junior-year English literature class of Rutgers Professor Ronald Levao. This trip was part of the CJCP curriculum as Macbeth is a text that is taught to 11th grade students for its renaissance unit.

Jimenez, a former student of Levao’s, contacted her former teacher because she felt that the trip would motivate students to attend college as they would have a feel of life through the perspective of a college student.
