The Franklin High School freshman football team ran all over the Immaculata Spartans Nov. 7, notching a 30-12 win.
The win brings the team’s record to an even 4-4, with arch rival Piscataway looming next week.
Coach Jamon Dunn credited the win to a total team effort.
“It was a team win,” he said. “It was all aspects of the game; offense, defense, special teams. Everyone did what they were supposed to do and supported their teammates in the process.”
“I thought our kids came out hard, they competed hard from the beginning,” he said. “They came out ready to go and obviously it worked out for us.”
Dunn said the team must now focus on Piscataway.
“It’s a big rivalry game,” he said. “We have to get them settled down and ready to play, there’s a lot of emotion in it.”
“A lot of these kids played together in Pop Warner, so they’ve been talking about it with each other, so we have to get that out of it so we can focus on executing,” Dunn said. “They’re excited to play against each other and we just need to keep them focused on what the ultimate goal is.”
