Small businesses in Somerset County are eligible to enter a contest run by Unity Bank that will award $16,000 in cash prizes.
The Clinton-based bank has a branch on Cedar Grove Lane in Somerset.
Grand prize in the “Small Business Dreams BIG Contest” – open to businesses with less than $2 million in gross annual revenue or fewer than 50 employees – is $10,000.
The contest is “designed to help small business owners promote and grow their business,” according to a release about the contest.
“Unity Bank is committed to helping small businesses grow,” Unity Bank president and CEO James A. Hughes said in the release. “We are always looking to partner with small businesses who have a vision for their company and the community. The contest is a fun way to help companies take another step on the road to success.”

The five finalists will be selected through a combination of social media voting and the scoring of essay questions. The Grand Prize winner will be determined by web voting during the Finalist Voting Period.
The five finalists will have the opportunity to create a promotional video at Unity Bank’s expense, which will be posted online for use in the final voting. The finalists are encouraged to share contest details through social media and other means to generate votes.
The finalists will also receive a copy of the video to use to promote their business. The five finalists will be announced August 15 and the winner will be announced September 19.
