Township PBA 154, Food Bank, Hold Hot Dog Fundraiser

Hot dogs for $1 are the featured menu item Sept. 14 during a Hot Dog Sunday fundraiser for the Franklin Township Food Bank and the Township Police PBA Local 154 at the Corner Cafe and Grill, Amwell Road and DeMott Lane.

Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be offered for $1 each from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A Corner Cafe Special Hamburger will also be offered for $2.

Members of the PBA, food bank and Corner cafe employees will be on hand during the event.

“Since purchasing the Corner Café six years ago, the PBA and Food Bank and the entire community have been great supporters,” Robert Knoke Jr., owner of the Corner Café and Grill, said in a press release about the event. “I look forward to the opportunity to give something back.”

“We encourage all of our members to stay active within the community,” PBA President Mark Rossman said in the release. “This is one of the many ways the PBA can get together with the community and give back to the people who are in need.”

“The PBA always volunteers to help the Food Bank and we thought it would be fun if we did this event together,” Food Bank Executive Director, Frank Hasner said in the release. “This is also a great way for the Food Bank to kick off our Fall events.”

PBA President Mark Rossman and Food Bank Executive Director Frank Hasner thanked Franklin based businesses sponsoring this event: Stop & Shop, Frito Lay, Poland Springs, Ralph’s Italian Ices and the Pepsi Distribution Center in Piscataway.
