Three people were injured and Cedar Grove Lane as closed for about one hour during the evening of Aug. 14 after a three-car collision.
Police said that at shortly after 5 p.m., a 2001 Nissan Altima driven by Jeffrey Georgiana, 55, of Somerset was traveling north on Cedar Grove Lane when it collided with a 2007 Honda Odyssey, driven by George Chow, 58, of North Brunswick, as the Odyssey was turning left onto Wexford Way.
The collision caused the Odyssey to spin and leave the road, coming to a stop on the sidewalk.
Georgiana’s car also went into a spin and collided with a car traveling north on Cedar Grove Lane, driven by Brian Royle, 36, of Kendall Park, police said.
An unidentified female passenger of Georgiana’s car was trapped inside the Nissan and had to be extricated by firefighters from Somerset Fire and Rescue and Middlebush Fire Dept., police said. The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment of multiple fractures and other non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Georgiana and Chow also suffered minor injuries, police said, but refused medical treatment.
Royle and his passenger were not injured, police said.
Chow was cited for careless driving, failure to yield and making an improper turn, police said and Georgiana was cited for operating an unregistered vehicle.
