The Franklin Township Baseball League kicked off its 2015 season April 11 – its 63rd – with its traditional parade from Pine Grove Manor School to the baseball complex on Dekalb Street.
Girls’ softball and boys’ baseball teams paraded down the streets, led by members holding their respective banners.
The day also featured comments from local officials, including Township Councilmen Phil Kramer, Rajiv Prasad and James Vassanella, and state Assemblyman Joe Danielsen.
League president Chuck Turano said about 500 players were enrolled in the league this year.
“We’re expecting a great year,” he said.
The baseball league is the longest-running youth sports program in the township.
