Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (31-13) swept a doubleheader against the Camden Riversharks (18-27) Tuesday evening at TD Bank Ballpark.
The Somerset Patriots defeated the Camden Riversharks 7-6 in 13 innings in game one of a doubleheader. James Skelton roped a game winning walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the 13th inning as it was his second walk-off hit of the season.
In the bottom of the third inning catcher Adam Donachie and first baseman David Vidal each roped RBI singles to give Somerset a 2-0 advantage.
The Patriots plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth inning as left fielder Aharon Eggleston slapped a RBI single while designated hitter Thomas Neal cranked a RBI double to increase the lead to 4-0.
Camden scored twice in the top of the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 4-2. Shortstop Brandon Chaves sliced a RBI double while second baseman Paddy Matera recorded a RBI sacrifice fly.
The Riversharks rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh inning to grab its first lead of the evening at 6-4 as the first seven batters of the inning reached base. Chaves and Matera tallied RBI singles while center fielder Carlos Guzman socked a two RBI double.
Third baseman Greg Hopkins lined a game tying two RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 6-6.
This was Somerset’s sixth walk-off win of the year.
Paul Smyth earned the win (3-0) in relief. Eric Smith suffered the loss (0-4) in relief.

In the bottom of the first inning third baseman David Vidal smacked a RBI double to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.
Vidal cranked a three run home run (1) in the home half of the third inning to expand the Patriots lead to 4-0.
David Harden earned the win (5-1) tossing 5.1 scoreless innings. He now has tossed 23.1 consecutive scoreless innings spanning over his last four outings. Sean Gleason suffered the loss (2-4) as he hurled a complete game allowing four runs.
