York, PA – The Somerset Patriots (21-15) scored four first inning runs, but had to hold on and strand the tying run at third base in the last of the ninth as they snapped a four game losing streak by edging the York Revolution (21-15) 7-6 Saturday evening at PeoplesBank Ballpark.
With the Patriots clinging to a one run lead in the bottom of the ninth and a runner on first base, Jon Hunton gave up a booming triple in the right-center field alley to Telvin Nash. Isaias Tejeda tried to score from first base, but was thrown out representing the tying run. The relay went from Carlos Guzman to Eric Farris to Yovan Gonzalez. The next batter, Andres Perez, grounded out to shortstop as the Patriots sealed the victory.
