Sugar Land, TX – The Somerset Patriots (11-5) shutout the Sugar Land Skeeters (6-10) 4-0 Sunday afternoon from Constellation Field. The Patriots have won a season high five games in a row and won five of the six games in the lengthy series.
In the top of the fifth inning Somerset scratched across three runs with two outs to take a 3-0 advantage. Center fielder Cory Harrilchak and left fielder Ty Wright each roped RBI singles while right fielder Luis Montanez cranked a RBI double.
The Patriots added an insurance run in the top of the eighth inning as first baseman Robbie Widlansky sliced a RBI single making the contest 4-0 which would be the final.
Matt Langwell (1-1) earned the win throwing six brilliant shutout innings. Matt Wright (1-3) suffered the loss lasting five innings allowing three runs on six hits.
