Earl N. Reid, Sr., of Somerset passed away on November 17 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 75.
Born and raised in Concord, North Carolina, he lived in various towns throughout New Jersey before moving to Somerset in 2004.
He worked as a Supervisor of Transportation at the VA Hospital in Lyons until his retirement.
Earl enjoyed spending time in nature, fishing and RV camping. He also enjoyed working in his yard, small projects around the house, NY Giants football, classic country music, working on cars and most of all spending time with his family and loved ones.
He is predeceased by his parents, James and Maggie Reid; brother, James Reid, and sisters, Mildred Reid and Mary Spencer.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Gwendolyn; sons and daughter-in-law, Earl N. Reid Jr. and his wife Tammy of Edison and Marcus Reid of Somerset; daughter, Toi Reid of Newark, Delaware; sister, Margaret Reid of Charlotte, North Carolina; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Private cremation services have been handled under the professional direction of the Gleason Funeral Home of Somerset.
