The Franklin High School girls’ basketball team started its season with a win against Immaculata Dec. 20, but the boys’ team wasn’t as fortunate.
Two three-pointers each helped Adreana Miller and Mary Trossi lead the girls’ team to a rolling win, 53-31, at home.
Franklin led the entire game, being outscored only in the fourth quarter.
Helping in the effort were Amiya Rankins nd Jaeda Wildgoose with 8 points each, Alexandra Jackson with 6 points, Tahirah Scott with 5 points and Sierra Gibson with 2 points.
The boys’ team lost its season opener at Immaculata, 73-52. Franklin trailed by just 4 points at the end of the first quarter, but Immaculata scored 23 points to Franklin’s 14 in the second to widen the gap, and never looked back.
