Pillar College welcomed the community on Feb. 23 in its first open house.
About 60 people visited the evangelical college, located on Apgar Road, during the event.
There were a number of different events planned throughout the day, said Amy Huber, Pillar’s vice president of student engagement.
“We had stations where visitors could learn about the student experience, financing your education, we had an interactive game where individuals could link up their skills with a career calling, and then we introduced all of our program chairs who talked about our offerings,” she said.
“We had a raffle drawing every hour and gave away some prizes,” Huber said. “And we got to hear from some alumni who talked about their experiences.”
Huber said the college usually has small information sessions that focus on one program.
“We felt it might be more fun and inclusive to have everyone here today and get a sampling of Pillar College,” she said.
The college currently enrolls 650 students and offers degrees in programs such as business administration, elementary education and Biblical studies.
