When Chris Anderson starts college next September at Lock Haven University, he won’t be a stranger to the area.
Anderson said he visited the central Pennsylvania region where the college is located many times growing up.
And starting next fall, the 6’3″ offensive lineman will play football for the Bald Eagles.
Anderson, a four-year veteran of the Franklin High School Warriors football team – playing varsity since his sophomore year – said he wanted to play for Lock Haven because the team is on its way up.
“They had a history of losing, but Coach (Dave) Taynor is a good coach,” he said. “You can tell by the way he talks to you that he knows what he’s doing.”
Anderson’s formal signing ceremony was held Feb. 1 at the high school.
Lock Haven was also a good fit for him, Anderson said, because he belongs to a hunting club about an hour from the university.
“I like the environment,” he said.
Anderson said he plans to study secondary education and biology.
