Internet copyright trolling is the topic of an Oct. 24 workshop sponsored by the Somerset County Business Partnership Financial Services Special Interest Group at the partnership offices at 360 Grove St., Bridgewater.
Set for 8:30-9:30 a.m., the “Potholes & Speed Traps on the Information Superhighway” workshop will focus on the many companies that are using copyright and trademark infringement suits as revenue streams and the methods they are using to do so.
The discussion will provide business decision-makers with the information they need to avoid entanglement with “trolls,” while protecting them from the theft of corporate ideas, copyrights and trademarks that are universally posted on the Internet.
The discussion will also touch on the issue of avoiding infringing on another company’s intellectual material.
The presenter will be Lori Patrick, Esq., an attorney specializing in intellectual property and trademarks with Coughlin & Duffy.
The session is free for Business Partnership members and $30 for non-members. Pre-registration is recommended and may be accomplished at http://bit.ly/10-24-13fisig or by calling the Business Partnership at 908-218-4300.
