It was a week late, but residents came out anyway on July 11 to celebrate Independence Day with music, food, games and, of course, fireworks.
The event was held in the municipal complex off DeMott Lane. Along with the vendors, various township organizations set up tables and distributed literature and give-aways.
The celebration was delayed a week because of inclement weather on July 3, the original date.
The event was paid for entirely by money donated for the day, the principal fundraiser of which was MacAfee School principal and former Mayor and Township Councilman, Bill Grippo.
