The annual ZTrek fundraising cycling event is slated to take off July 28 from the ZCC Children’s Christian Ministry Church in Zarepath.

ZTrek is a cycling event designed to raise money and awareness for people in need.

Started by a small group of dedicated cyclists in 2007 riding 500 miles over several days, the event is now a one-day cycling event open to riders of all skill levels.  This year’s event offers 25-, 45- 65- and 100-mile routes through central Jersey’s scenic countryside.

Since its inception, ZTrek Cycling to Serve has raised more than $450,000 for a variety of humanitarian causes. This year ZTrek participants will ride for My Neighbor’s Pantry in Somerset, New Jersey and the Po River Medical Clinic in the lower Yarnee district of Liberia.

The Pantry was founded in 2003 and now serves about 300 families in Somerset County and is a local mission program of the Zarepath Christian Church. The Po River clinic provides quality medical care to more than 6,000 men, women and children living in this remote region who have no other medical facilities available.
