Sponsored Content.

Central Jersey College Prep Charter School (CJCP) is a tuition free, K-12, public charter school located in Somerset, New Jersey. It was established in 2006 with only 77 students, and is now home to 820 students during the school year 2018-19.

Mission

The mission of CJCP is to provide academic and social challenges and opportunities for students to attain the skills necessary for success in post-secondary education.

CJCP serves its mission by offering rigorous academic programs, college and career counseling, and extracurricular enrichment activities. College preparation starts in kindergarten at CJCP, with a strong academic and social-emotional curricular foundation. The skill sets and knowledge are then transferred progressively towards the upper grades to accomplish the school’s vision and mission.

Application and Admission

CJCP is open to all students in New Jersey on a space-available basis with preference given to students from Franklin Township, City of New Brunswick, and Township of North Brunswick. CJCP does not impose any eligibility requirements as all students including English Language Learners and Special Education students are encouraged to apply. CJCP does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, or national origin.

Applications may be submitted online at http://www.cjcollegeprep.org/, starting January 1 through March 1,  2019. CJCP selects students for enrollment through a random lottery process that is weighted for students from low-income families, English Language Learners, and homeless students. Students who qualify for the weighted lottery will have their names placed twice as opposed to other students listed only once in the lottery pool. Further information regarding application and enrollment may be found at http://www.cjcollegeprep.org/apply.
