Steve Kalafer Speaks At The Small Biz Networking Meetup

Flemington, NJ- Steve Kalafer, the Chairman of Flemington Car and Truck Country Family of Brands and the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club, was the keynote speaker at the Small Biz Networking Group Meetup event on Tuesday, February 20th.

“The definition of success is what you’ve accomplished with others, the fairness and equity in which you deal with people, and how you deal with adversity,” Kalafer said.

Kalafer attended the networking event held at Al Fresco’s in Flemington to discuss business and answer questions from those in attendance.

When asked what motivated him, Kalafer answered, “fear of failure.”

“Fear of letting my family down, fear of letting my associates down, and fear of letting my community down,” said Kalafer.

He then explained his business philosophy to the crowd of over 70 people and made sure everyone had a coin with his company values printed on them. The coin with the Flemington Car and Truck Country Family of Brands logo on one side has the words “Be Kind, Be Fair, Work Hard, Earn Money, and Do Good” on the reverse side.

“I realize that the world is not made for me,” Kalafer remarked. “Whatever success I felt or whatever gratification I felt, it has to be shared with the people that made it happen. That’s the people I work with, our customers, and our community.”

The Small Biz Networking Group was started as a service to the local community to help and provide assistance and resources for business owners to grow their businesses, network, get referrals, and have fun.
