St. Matthias Church Offers ‘Drive-Thru Ashes’ For Ash Wednesday

The Catholic Community of St. Matthias, 168 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, will offer “Drive-thru Ashes” from 4-5 p.m. Ash Wednesday, Feb. 14.

The church will also celebrate Mass at 7 a.m., 12:10 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., and hold a prayer service at 5:30 p.m., according to a press release from the church. The masses will be held inside the church and will include distribution of ashes.

The “Drive-thru Ashes” are primarily for those who are unable to attend one of the other services, according to the press release.  To participate, enter from JFK Boulevard, and immediately turn right in front of the church.  Ashes will be distributed at the end of the parking lot, before the right turn to exit.
