Six Candidates Vie For Three School Board Seats

Former Board of Education members Pat Stanley and Ed Potosnak are among six people vying for three open board seats in November.

Six candidates have filed for the three Board of Education seats up for contention in November’s election.

In addition to incumbent Laurie Merris and former board president Ed Potosnak, former board member Pat Stanley has submitted an application to run.

Potosnak and Stanley lost their bids for re-election in 2017.

Also throwing hats in the ring are Beverly Briggs-Lawson, a former Township Council candidate; Joel S. Goldman, and Maria L. Tapia-Burch.

Current board members Rich Seamon and Margaret Steele have opted not to run for re-election.

All seat terms are three years.
