Riversharks Shut Out Patriots 5-0
Bridgewater, NJ – The Camden Riversharks (12-15, 35-62) shutout the Somerset Patriots (17-11, 64-34) 5-0 Wednesday afternoon from TD Bank Ballpark.
In the top of the second inning second baseman Jose Morales hit a RBI sacrifice fly to give Camden an early 1-0 advantage.
Camden plated four runs in the top of the eighth inning to grab a 5-0 lead. Center fielder Zack MacPhee stroked a RBI single, third baseman Bryan Pounds pounded a two run home run (9) while right fielder Ryan Strieby socked a RBI double.
Wes Torrez (4-2) earned the win tossing seven scoreless innings. Matt Zielinski (8-5) suffered the loss hurling seven innings while allowing one run.
