A 47-year-old New York woman has been charged with prostitution after a month-long investigation into a township massage parlor.

Yuhong J. Chen was arrested at about 1:45 p.m. Dec. 11 at Healthy Tone Spa on Route 27, according to a press release from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force and the Franklin Township Police Department began the investigation after receiving complaints from citizens that a suspected brothel was being operated out of the spa, according to the release.

On Dec. 11, an undercover County Prosecutor’s detective was propositioned for sex in exchange for money by Chen, according to the release.

Task Force members and township police then entered the spa and Chen was placed under arrest, according to the release.

Chen was charged with engaging in prostitution, which is a disorderly persons offense, the release said. She was processed and released on her own recognizance pending an appearance in Municipal Court, according to the release.
