Life Story: Peter Muniz, Co-Founder Of Franklin Food Bank

Peter Muniz was born in New York City where he lived until 1964 when he moved his family to Somerset. He earned his BS and MBA from City University while working at Western Electric in Newark. In 1969 Mr. Muniz founded Peter Muniz & Co. He was a pioneer in the field of cultural awareness in the work place, providing training in both English and Spanish. Mr. Muniz did consulting work in the United States, Puerto Rico, Rutgers University and Panama.

He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was actively involved with the community, most notably he assisted in forming the Franklin Township Food Bank in 1976 along with clergy of the township and several other members of the community. The Food Bank now provides basic essentials for over 1,500 families each month.

He is pre-deceased by his wife Rose (1995).

Surviving are his children, Philip, Agnes, Peter and Nadine. He is also survived by his grandchildren Marc, David, Nate, and Christina and a great granddaughter Sierra.
