Life Story: Irwin Sheinman, 88; Co-Founded Holiday Bake Shoppe In Kendall Park

Irwin Sheinman, 88, of Somerset, passed away Dec. 9 at the Regency Heritage Jewish Home.

He was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, before moving to New Brunswick in the early 1950s and then settling in Somerset where he lived for more than 60 years.

Irwin, along with his brother Seymour was the original owner of the Holiday Bake Shoppe in Kendall Park from 1959 until his retirement in 1995.

Irwin was pre-deceased in 2008 by his wife of 59 years, Sylvia, and his sister Shirley Buckalter Hoff.

He is survived by his son Larry of Somerset, daughter Gloria and her husband Angelo Ruotolo of Howell and his twin brother Seymour of Somerset. He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher and Angelina Sheinman of Washington, CJ Sheinman and his partner Heather Lewis of Ringoes, Michael Ruotolo of Manchester, and Gina and Andrew Van Dorn of Wayne; great granddaughters Natalie and Madeline Van Dorn and Step grandchildren Olivia and step grandchildren Olivia and Garret Lewis and special friend of many years, Patricia Mistretta.
