Twelfth Congressional District Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman today released the following statement thanking the New Jersey State AFL-CIO for their endorsement of her campaign for re-election and vowing to continue fighting side by side with working families throughout the district.

“I am proud to have earned the New Jersey State AFL-CIO’s endorsement of our campaign for re-election because that is a strong indicator that the work we have been doing on behalf of the working men and women of our District is having a positive impact. Whether on the campaign trail, in the district office or working down in Washington, our focus and drive to improve the lives of every family we represent in Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset and Union Counties never changes and it never wavers. I want to thank each and every member of the AFL-CIO for their support and, most importantly, for all they do on a daily basis throughout the district and across the state in maintaining the tremendous standards that help set the example in so many work places throughout New Jersey.

I was raised in a family that always believed in the power of organized labor and has always fought for the rights of every worker to have a voice that will be heard. I believe that it has never been more important for us all to stand together against those who would try and deny families the opportunity to make a livable wage or attain affordable health care than it is today.”
