Easton Avenue Water Main Break Must Wait For Repairs

Water streams along Easton Avenue, near the Village Plaza, Nov. 18 as the result of a water main break that cannot be repaired until Nov. 20.

The inability to get a necessary part, coupled with the need for businesses to stay open, has forced the township to leave a broken water main running along Easton Avenue.

The main, located on Easton Avenue in the area of the Village Plaza, has been broken since sometime on Nov. 16.

Mayor Phil Kramer said the part will not be available until Nov. 20.

In the meantime, the main had to be kept open so as not to force the shutdown of businesses in the plaza.

Water can be seen streaming in the plaza’s parking lot, as well as along Easton Avenue.

There are a number of restaurants in the plaza, as well as Dunkin’ Donuts and McDonald’s chain restaurants.

There are also a host of professional offices on the second floor of the plaza’s retail buildings.
