Retired Chief/ K-9 Unit Commander of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office

Candidate for Somerset County Sheriff.

I had the honor of working at the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office for over 21 years. I was promoted four times by the current Sheriff Frank Provenzano and held the ranks of Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and Acting Chief. I oversaw the Administrative Division budget as well as the day-to-day operations within the Somerset County Courthouse. I was also the K-9 Unit Commander during this time which had me responding to Bomb Scares, Bank Robberies, Drug Search Warrants and Missing Children & Seniors all throughout the county. If elected, I would be the first Sheriff who has actually worked for the sheriff’s office, so I am ready to hit the ground running on Day 1 to keep us all safe. Taxpayers rejoice!

My introduction to politics came during my career when I successfully lobbied the N.J. Legislature for “Dano’s Law” to better protect police K9’s and the families they live with. This was after a drug dealer made threats to come to my house and kill my police K9 partner and I had learned there were no laws on the books in New Jersey against threatening a law enforcement animal. “Dano’s Law” was the first law in the history of our state to be named after an animal and it remains the key law today protecting all police dogs- and police horses.

I am married, father of two young children, and currently sit on the Executive Boards of the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter and the Somerset County 4-H. I was born in this county and I am committed to keeping it safe with your support. I am honored to have the Nomination of the Somerset County Regular Republican Party, along with my running mate Robert Quinn (of Franklin Township) for Freeholder.

Please Vote Line #1 Conservative Republican TIM PINO for SHERIFF on JUNE 4th! Lets make history together by making me the first sheriff in the history of the state to work with a Police K9 while in office!
