Blue Crabs Top Patriots In Series-Finale

Bridgewater, NJ – The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (13-16, 51-47) defeated the Somerset Patriots (14-14, 56-42) 6-1 at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday evening.

The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI single by Kyle Roller. 2017 Season, Somerset Patriots, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, Will Oliver, Kyle Roller, Atlantic League, TD Bank Ballpark

The Blue Crabs took the lead with a big five-run inning, highlighted by a grand slam by Ryan Wiggins (4) that made the score 5-1.

Southern Maryland added a run to the lead in the top of the seventh inning on an RBI single by Edwin Garcia.

Drew Hayes (6-5) earned the win after he allowed just one unearned run over six innings of work. Will Oliver (4-3) yielded six runs over six and 1/3 innings to suffer the loss.

The 2017 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Monday night with a 7:05 pm game against the York Revolution. The game features Star Wars Night with a special appearance by Darth Vader, R2D2, Stormtroopers, and more. For tickets, visit www.somersetpatriots.com.
