Teams representing alumni from Franklin and Piscataway high schools squared off Nov. 25 in the second annual Alumni Basketball Game.

The Piscataway squad walked off with the trophy, posting an 84-80 win. Franklin led by a many as 18 points early in the game, but Piscataway chipped away through three quarters, putting the game away in the final minutes.

Sponsored mainly by the Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce, Investors Bank and Momentum Advisors, the game is a fundraiser for “Corporation Me,” an organization that teaches financial literacy to children.

Kyle Pitts, an associate with Momentum and the event’s organizer, formed “Corporation Me.” Pitts is working with a group of FHS students who have already started businesses, he said.

Pitts said the idea for the game sprang from the Thanksgiving Day football rivalry between the two schools.

The event is in its infancy, Pitts said, but has the potential to grow in years to come.
