Sugar Land, TX – The Somerset Patriots (9-5) shutout the Sugar Land Skeeters (6-8) 4-0 Friday night from rainy Constellation Field. The game was delayed one hour and forty nine minutes at the start due to rain. The Patriots have won three of the first four games of this lengthy six game series in Texas.
Somerset scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take an early 3-0 advantage. Designated hitter Ty Wright slapped a RBI single while third baseman Corey Smith smacked a two run home run (1).
The Patriots added an insurance run in the top of the ninth inning as shortstop Edwin Maysonet tallied a RBI sacrifice fly to make the score 4-0 which would be the final.
Zack Kroenke (1-1) earned the win pitching seven scoreless innings scattering just four hits. David Pauley (1-1) suffered the loss tossing six innings allowing three runs.
