Township Council Approves More Than $13 Million In Spending

More than $13 million in spending over the course of the year was approved Jan. 26 by the Township Council.

The bulk of the authorization – more than $9.9 million – was for the township’s health plans: $6.5 million to Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NJ for medical insurance, $3.1 million to Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NJ for prescription coverage, $305,000 to Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield of NJ for dental and another $6,000 to CIGNA Dental.

The council also awarded a $143,264 state contract to Motorola Solutions Inc. of Bordentown for maintenance of its trunked radio and 911 radio systems; a $24,977 state contract to Consolidated Steel and Aluminum Fence Co. of Kenilworth to replace the fence around the DPW building and contracts worth $25,000 each to Engineering and Land Planning Associates of High Bridge, Van Cleef Engineering and Carroll Engineering of New Jersey, both of Hillsborough for land surveying services.

Nearly $3 million in cooperative pricing contracts were also awarded for a number of items, such as auto and truck parts, road salt, software maintenance and gasoline and diesel fuel.
