Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (5-3) defeated the York Revolution (3-6) 3-2 Saturday evening from TD Bank Ballpark. Third baseman David Vidal drilled a walk-off RBI single to propel the Patriots to their third straight victory.
In the bottom of the sixth inning first baseman Andres Perez committed an error that led to a Somerset run making the score 1-0 in favor of the Patriots.
Catcher Adam Donachie clubbed a RBI double to expand Somerset’s lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning.
York rallied to tie the contest at 2-2 in the top of the eighth inning with back-to-back RBI hits. Second baseman Eric Patterson smacked a RBI single while Perez roped a RBI double.
It was the Patriots third win in their final at bat through their first eight games.
R.J. Seidel (1-0) earned the win in relief. Leyson Septimo (0-1) sustained the loss in relief.
