
A township man remains in custody at the Somerset County Jail, Somerville, following his arrest on gun-related charges.
Rashan M. McMillan, 44, of Somerset was arrested Oct. 4 after he was found by police with a loaded revolver holding several spent shell casings stuffed in the waistband of his pants, according to a press release from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police were called at about 11:50 a.m. by a person reporting that a man was standing near a blue vehicle on Hamilton Street, firing a handgun in the air, according to the release. The man was described as being black and wearing a red or orange t-shirt, grey pants and a red hat, according to the release.
FTPD Sgt. Greg Price and Officer Andre Tirado responded to the area and stopped McMillan, who matched the description, according to the release. McMillan was arrested without incident, according to the release.
McMillan was charged with 2nd Degree unlawful possession of a handgun, 4th Degree possession of a defaced firearm and 2nd Degree certain persons not to possess firearms, according to the release.
