Somerset-area Stop & Shop stores on Jan. 31 made an $11,000 contribution to the Franklin Township Food Bank. The money was raised through the stores’ “Food For Friends” program.
Through the program, which runs in November, customers can donate $1, $3 or $5. Money raised goes to support hunger relief organizations, according to the Stop & Shop Web site.
