Bridgewater, NJ – The York Revolution (33-24, 57-70) shutout the Somerset Patriots (32-26, 82-46) 7-0 Tuesday evening at TD Bank Ballpark.
In the top of the first inning designated hitter Andres Perez clubbed a RBI sacrifice fly to give York a 1-0 advantage.
Right fielder Brandon Boggs belted a home run (12) to increase the Revolution lead to 2-0 in the top of the fourth inning.
Center fielder James Simmons slugged a home run (2) to up the score to 3-0 in favor of York in the top of the fifth inning.
York scored four times in the top of the sixth inning to grab a 7-0 lead. First baseman Telvin Nash smashed a RBI double, catcher Luis De La Cruz recorded a RBI sacrifice fly and Simmons hammered a two run home run (3).
Cody Scarpetta notched the win (1-1) hurling six scoreless frames. Matt Zielinski suffered the loss (7-3) yielding seven runs on nine hits in six innings of work.
