Police: Township Man Injured One-Month-Old Daughter

A 20-year-old township man suspected of severely injuring his one-month-old daughter remains in the Somerset County Jail, Somerville, on $75,000 bail, authorities said.

William Figueroa of the Franklin Park section was arrested the morning of Dec. 5 after township police responded to a 9-1-1 call of an injured baby.

The child, who is Figueroa’s biological daughter, police said, “sustained a contusion to her face, head trauma, and a fractured right femoral shaft.”

The girl was under Figueroa’s care when she was injured, police said.

The child was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, for treatment, police said.

Figueroa was charged with 2nd Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, police said.
