Mr. and Mrs. S. Claus made their annual trip to the Franklin Township Animal Shelter on Nov. 26.
The occasion was the annual open house, run by Second Chance for Animals, the organization that funds the animal shelter.
Bob Pezzato, SCFA’s president, said the event was a success.
Three animals – a dog, a cat and a rabbit – adopted, and several bags of dry and canned food were donated to the shelter.
“It’s a way to build visibility for the shelter,” he said of the event. “We also went over to (Spring Hills Somerset Assisted Living), and they loved it.”
Santa’s visit was a prelude to the Santa Paws fundraisers, held Dec. 3 and Dec. 10 at Sampson G. Smith Elementary School. For a small donation, visitors can have their pets pose for pictures with Santa.
