
Franklin High School’s Diamond Miller had her best game of the FIBA U16 Womens Americas Championship June 10, scoring 8 points in the US’s 98-42 victory over Argentina.
The win propels the undefeated US National Team into the gold medal round against Canada on June 11.
In addition to the 8 points, Miller grabbed four offensive rebounds, three defensive rebounds, had one assist and one steal. She also had three personal fouls and three turnovers.
With the win, the US is guaranteed at least a silver medal in the championship, which is being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The US U16 team is ranked No. 1 in the world by FIBA, the International Basketball Federation.
The US team has been dominant in this championship, handily beating each of its four opponents so far. The team has outscored its opponents by 177 points.
