By Bill Connell.
The Franklin Reporter has once again posted an article pointing out that Flock is bad. I am not sure if this is reporting or advocating, but their name warns you it could be either. Regardless, they have taken a position that the bad outweighs the good.
I have faith they have given it more consideration than a high school president’s campaign promises, and they have seriously weighed both sides before arriving at their position.
I have a question for them: If Flock goes out of business tomorrow is the conversation over? Do we all sing “ding dong, the witch is dead” and move on, or is there another conversation that needs to be had in the future?
From the Editor: Since you asked for a response; No, we don’t pack it in; we go on to the next round of surveillance companies with the same privacy questions, better contracts, and finding the right balance among safety, civil liberties, costs, and the kind of community we want to be.
